  • A statement that the information in the notice is accurate.
  • A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act for the copyright owner.

How we respond

When we receive a complete notice, we review it and may remove or disable access to the material, notify the affected account owner, request more information, or take other appropriate action. Incomplete notices may delay review.

Counter-notification

If your material was removed or disabled because of a DMCA notice and you believe that happened by mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notification to the designated agent. A counter-notification should include:

  • Your physical or electronic signature.
  • Identification of the material removed or disabled and where it appeared before removal.
  • Your name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address.
  • A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good faith belief the material was removed or disabled because of mistake or misidentification.
  • A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction required by the DMCA and will accept service of process from the person who submitted the original notice or their agent.

Misrepresentation and repeat infringement

The DMCA may impose liability for knowingly misrepresenting that material is infringing or was removed by mistake. We may disable or terminate accounts that repeatedly infringe copyrights or other intellectual property rights.
